Just in case you weren't aware the first time, Golden Tate did NOT have an affair with Russell Wilson's ex-wife.
Tate took to The Cauldron to publish an essay in which he dispelled two intriguing rumors about him. The first we've known about for a while now. As most NFL fans know, Russell Wilson filed for divorce last year, sparking a rumor that Tate had an affair with his ex-wife Ashton Meem. Ridiculous, and a waste of time to talk about really. Apparently he still hasn't let this go, because he addressed this in his essay too. What can you expect?
The claim that caught my attention was his account of what happened between him and Percy Harvin the week before the Super Bowl. In it, he allows that he and Harvin did have a confrontation, but that it never rose to "the level that was erroneously reported by certain outlets". Tate claims that he never had a black eye and that this was again the media blowing things out of proportion so they could have a story to tell, most likely to create more hype about Harvin's trade to New York in my opinion. The images of his "black eye", he says were photoshopped.
So now we know. Whether or not the Harvin story we originally heard was just written to create more drama about him being a problem in the locker room remains to be seen. However, since this is a first-person account by someone who was directly involved in the supposed "confrontation", we can at least be sure that Tate's account is accurate.
