It's The Day Before!

What's going on 12's? It's Saturday, January 31, the day before the Super Bowl! Woo! What's your pick for the big game? I'm going with 37-17 Hawks. We beat them at our last matchup, and cheaters never prosper!

Why Your Team Sucks (49ers)

1. Colin Kaepernick

This guy kisses his biceps when he scores a touchdown, and yet hates attention. News flash: kissing your biceps is going to get you attention whether you like it or not. He plays like a high school quarterback too. If the first read option isn't there....well, you know what happens.

2. Jim Harbaugh

You know he sucks when his own team tried to trade him to the Browns.

3. Fade routes

During the 2013 Super Bowl, the 49ers lost because the fade to Crabtree failed miserably. The very next season, Kaepernick throws the same fade to Crabtree in the NFC championship...we all know how that ended.

4. Targeting Richard Sherman

After the NFC championship, number 7 said that he "wasn't afraid of Sherman". Well, he's certainly proved that this year. Richard Sherman ended their season last year, but apparently Kaepernick hasn't learned to stay away from him.

Update Part 3

Okay, now it's 1st and 10 at the 46, and....pass play....oops, ball is deflected. Okay, they coverted on second down, so it's 1st and 10 at the 30 yard line...throws it for the end zone...oh, incomplete....who was he throwing it to? Okay, and they're going for a field goal...okay, and they missed it. Steven Hauschka would have made that....pathetic kicker.

Commercial break again. This is getting annoying. I suggest Team Irvin benches their kicker.

Update Part 2

All right, we're back from the commercial break now. It's still 2nd and goal....touchdown! Okay, okay, so now Team Irvin will either be trailing by 2 or 1 depending on whether or not they go for the 2-point conversion....and they don't....oh, and he missed the extra point! Whoa, that's not good news for them. The good news is, they're only a field goal behind.

Cut to commercials again....I hate it when they do this....

Okay, we're back again. Team Carter has the ball, and they just got a five-yard false start penalty. It's now 1st and 10 at the 45, so let's see what they can do. There's about a minute left in the third quarter, so anything could happen. I wonder who's on defense for Irvin. Whoa, okay Dalton just got sacked! It's a loss of 7, so they may or may not punt....okay it looks like they will. There's a flag on the punt, but I don't know what it's for yet. Oh, it's a holding penalty on the receiving team, so it's a ten-yard penalty against Irvin.

Commercials...

Pro Bowl Update 1

Okay, I missed a lot of the game while I was at my swim meet, but I'll be posting updates from now until the end. The current score is Irvin 19, Carter 28. I think Golden Tate is here somewhere, but I haven't seen him yet. I would like to see Team Irvin win, so let's see if they can come back.

So it's 1st and 10 at the 29 yard line and....wow, Ingraham to the 2-yard line! And....okay, the run was stopped so it's 2nd and goal....great, commercial break now.

Pro Bowl this Sunday

Well, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do a live update of the Pro Bowl on Sunday, but I'll try. I have a swim meet to go to, and I might have to wait for my sisters to finish their races before I get back home. Such is the life of a 14-year-old girl....oh well, like I said I'll do my best, and then it's on to Super Bowl XLIX! Did I get those Roman numerals right?

Just Some Things I've Noticed

I've been reading some comments on YouTube, and I would like someone to answer these questions for me.

1. Okay, so Wilson had a bad game. How does one game define how good you are?

The thing is, had it been any other QB you guys would all be saying how great he is for making such a big comeback. Double standard much?

2. How did the Seahawks get lucky?

Of course they got a little lucky. Luck always partially comes into play when teams win games. But it's stupid to say that their win was based only off of luck.

3. How are the Packers better than the Seahawks?

I saw a comment saying that the Packers are the best team in the NFL because they beat the Patriots earlier this season. By that idiot's own logic the Seahawks are actually better because they beat the Packers twice this year.

4. Does everyone have to bring up the Adderall thing?

If you haven't noticed, no one has tested positive this season, and last year we suspended the ones who did. And where is our main offender now? Oh that's right, the Patriots.

5. What's with everyone saying the game was rigged?

The refs called a fair game as far as I'm concerned. The Seahawks had more penalties against them that helped the Packers drives.

Best Games in Seahawks 2013 and 2014 Seasons

5. 49ers 29-3

Complete domination. That's all I'm going to say.

4. NFC Championship 2014

3. Eagles 24-14

The game wasn't even that close. Seattle DOMINATED the Eagles and finally found their mojo again.

2. NFC Championship Game 2015

From losing 16-0 to winning 28-22 in overtime, the Seahawks proved they know how to finish. Who else felt like they were watching the entire season condensed into one game?

1. Super Bowl XLVIII

The Seahawks destroyed the Broncos to win the franchise's first Super Bowl ever. It was the moment Seattle fans everywhere have been waiting for the past 38 years.

Worst Games in Seahawks Seasons (2013 and 2014)

5. St Louis 26-28

If they scored a touchdown every time the Rams successfully faked them out they would have had that game in the bag.

4. 49ers 19-17

The defense just didn't make the stop when they needed to. It's okay though because in the next game (NFC Conference) the Seahawks won 23-17.

3. Kansas City 24-20

Not only was there a bad call (that the refs ADMITTED would probably have won Seattle the game), but the Chiefs fans before the game were UNBELIEVABLY classless. They made Patriots fans seem cool.

2. San Diego 21-30

Okay, I get that it's in 105-degree heat, but really? That was just a bad performance overall.

1. Dallas 23-30

Instead of trying to explain exactly what went wrong, I think I'll let Doug Baldwin take over for this one.

Okay, Never Mind

Okay, never mind, I get it now. They were televising the 2014 Pro Bowl today...that would explain why I couldn't find Golden Tate anywhere too. Well, I guess I'll be watching the game on Sunday then just so I can watch Tate play again. I still think the Lions should have been in the Division Championships against the Seahawks instead of the Dallas Cowboys, but whatever. They can always get redemption next year. In the meantime, this Pro Bowl should be interesting.

Sunday?

Okay, so I guess the Pro Bowl is on Sunday, but if the game is on Sunday then what was today?

Pro Bowl Again

Wait, wait...I just Googled "Pro Bowl" and one of the websites that came up listed the start date as Sunday...but another one said it was today. Seriously, can someone tell me when it is because I'm getting really confused.

Draft Picks?

Okay, so if this was actually the Pro Bowl, then what's this "Pro Bowl draft pick" thing I keep hearing is supposed to be on air tonight? Now I'm confused...

Pro Bowl Update

I still haven't seen Golden Tate yet, but I heard he is playing. I've also heard Patrick Peterson's name...I think. There's less than a minute to play now, and Rice's team needs something to happen for them now. It's 1st and 10 at the 20 yard line...and they scored a touchdown! Murray on a 19-yard TD run, and I wonder what they'll do now. Personally I think it would be safer to go for the extra point (is there an overtime in the Pro Bowl?), but they're going for the two-point conversion...and it works! Okay seriously...where is Tate? He has to be around here somewhere...which team is he on? Oh wait, the Lions...just kidding. This is really weird, watching players from different teams playing together. Oh wow, they're going to kick a 67-yard field goal? Really? That's going to be one long ass kick...well, if they make it, the kicker will be a hero, if not, damn I would not want to be him. And...let's see....Tucker is about to go for it....and it is short! Well, that didn't have much hope anyway. Who can make it that far anyway? You'd probably have to be on steroids.

Pro Bowl MVPs:

Offense

Sanders-Nick Foles, QB

Defense

Rice- Derrick Johnson, I have no idea which position he plays for

Final score- Rice 22, Sanders 21

Pro Bowl Update

So the score right now is Sanders 21, Rice 14 with 2:48 to go in the fourth quarter. I can't tell who's playing right now, but I did see a Jets player, JJ Watt, and Alex Smith. I haven't seen Golden Tate yet, but I'm sure he's there somewhere. Does anyone know which team he's playing for? I'm talking about for the Pro Bowl, not regular games.

OKay, so it's 3rd and 10, and-oh look, Cam Newton sighting I think-pass is incomplete, and they're going for it...HUGE mistake, the pass is intercepted. Wow, that throw went right to the defender...that's a little sad. Commercial break now, and let's see if Rice's team can score a touchdown. This is like watching a Madden game in real life.

Pro Bowl

Oh, so apparently the Pro Bowl was today. Wow, I didn't know that. Does anyone know why?

How the Comeback Happened

Like most Seahawks fans, I watched the NFC championship game on Sunday. Like everyone who watched the game, I'm still having trouble believing what I saw.

How does any team-even one lead by arguably the best QB in the league, the number one defense, and pedestrian (okay, okay, I'm kidding) receivers-make such a big comeback?

Let me try to break it down.
Down 19-7:

3:02 left in 4th quarter- Lynch carries for 26 yards to GB 9
2:13- Wilson scores 1-yard TD (extra point is good)
2:09- Hauschka onside kick recovered by Seattle
1:33- Lynch 24-yard TD run
1:32- Two point conversion succeeds

Then in overtime:

14:20- Wilson to Baldwin for 10 yards
13:50- Lynch 4-yard rush
12:36- Wilson to Baldwin for 35 yards
12:25- Wilson to Kearse for 35 yards TD

Game over.

Pro Bowl

Okay, truthfully I've never actually watched the Pro Bowl before. It never seemed that interesting, and anyway the Super Bowl is better. But this year I may just do a live update for the Pro Bowl since I have no other reason to watch it (other than it should be interesting to see players from different teams playing together). My biggest regret is not doing a live update for the NFC Championship game. The reason was timing. My computer takes a long time to load pages, and as a Seahawks fan I prioritize watching the Seahawks play before I blog about it. I usually only do live updates for teams that I don't really care about.

Golden Tate Denies Rumors...Again

Just in case you weren't aware the first time, Golden Tate did NOT have an affair with Russell Wilson's ex-wife.

Tate took to The Cauldron to publish an essay in which he dispelled two intriguing rumors about him. The first we've known about for a while now. As most NFL fans know, Russell Wilson filed for divorce last year, sparking a rumor that Tate had an affair with his ex-wife Ashton Meem. Ridiculous, and a waste of time to talk about really. Apparently he still hasn't let this go, because he addressed this in his essay too. What can you expect?

The claim that caught my attention was his account of what happened between him and Percy Harvin the week before the Super Bowl. In it, he allows that he and Harvin did have a confrontation, but that it never rose to "the level that was erroneously reported by certain outlets". Tate claims that he never had a black eye and that this was again the media blowing things out of proportion so they could have a story to tell, most likely to create more hype about Harvin's trade to New York in my opinion. The images of his "black eye", he says were photoshopped.

So now we know. Whether or not the Harvin story we originally heard was just written to create more drama about him being a problem in the locker room remains to be seen. However, since this is a first-person account by someone who was directly involved in the supposed "confrontation", we can at least be sure that Tate's account is accurate.

NFL Bias

I've really had it with the bias against the Seahawks. Every time I Google them, I always get a story that mentions some of the fans leaving the game. Let's get one thing straight: it was 150 fans leaving out of 68,000 total. That's only 0.0015 percent, everyone. What I don't get is, why is it such a big deal if some insignificant number of Seahawks fans can leave a game and everyone loses their minds, but at the 49ers game against the Seahawks and Raiders the stadium was almost completely devoid of 49ers fans and no one gave a crap? You would think that three-quarters of your fan base leaving would make more of a headline than 0.0015 percent, but apparently not. All I can say is whoever has been making such a big deal about it is a huge hypocrite.

Epic Whining (Green Bay)

Okay, I've heard excuses after a game before, but seriously Green Bay, you guys take the cake! I've been hearing multiple Packers fans saying that Green Bay gave the game away. Yeah, they kind of did, didn't they? But that's on them; everyone knows the game is 60 minutes long, not 57.

I also saw multiple people complaining again about the overtime rules and saying it's unfair that Rodgers didn't get a chance to score. That is complete BS. The rules state clearly that the coin toss determines possession, so each team has a 50/50 chance of winning the toss. If your team doesn't win the toss, your team needs to step it up on defense. They were great at that for most of the game. If the Packers deserved to win, why didn't they perform when it really counted?

Sunday, January 18, 2015

Final Score!

Okay, I got a little sidetracked during the game and forgot to do more updates. But just in case some of you don't know, the Seahawks are back in the Super Bowl! How about that comeback? Down 16-0, then winning 22-28 in overtime!

Update Part 2

Okay, so now each team has a turnover. It's 1st and 10 for Green Bay at the 19 yard line after an unsportsmanlike penalty on number 76 (I don't know who that is). Well...let's just do it again Seattle! I'm waiting for Kam Chancellor to jump over the line again or get another pick-six. Let's see how this one goes now.

All right then, it's 1st and goal...not much there. 2nd and goal now, they'll probably get this one. Oh well, it's one TD. That won't win you any games. Remember, last year San Francisco was ahead for almost three quarters and Seattle ended up winning anyway. Green Bay isn't as good this year as SF was last year, so I'm not expecting them to have the power to keep it up. The Seahawks will take a narrow lead and then extend it in the fourth quarter. It's just how they work. For now, let's just see what happens.

Oh, so there actually wasn't a touchdown. The runner was down at the half-yard line, but I expect them to get now. And...oh! Denied again! Well, I guess they'll be settling for a field goal. The kick is good, so 3-0 Packers. Good job to the defense on stopping the drive on 3rd and goal. Seattle will get the ball now... PLEASE maximize this! I'm surprised that Green Bay elected to go for the field goal.

NFC Conference Sort of Live Update Part 1

Welcome to Seattle, where the sun never shines, the city is constantly soaked from the rain, and the best team in the NFL plays in front of the best fan base in the NFL! The Seahawks are playing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Conference Championship today.

Okay, so the Seahawks deferred and kicked off to the Packers, who will start at their own 20 yard line. It's 2nd down for the Packers, and they decide to run the ball...not much there, 3rd and 7 so actually no gain. And there's a penalty on Seattle, so now 3rd and 2...come on Seattle! Okay, now it's first down for Green Bay...no worries! The Seahawks can still do this! Oh nice, yet another flag. Apparently there were 12 men on the field...whatever. They're not going to win.

It's 1st and 10 at the 45, so let's see what happens now. And first down again...man, this ref really is flag happy, isn't he? Okay, these announcers are annoying as crap. Someone tell Aikman and Buck that we're sick of his biased commentary.

And...IT'S PICKED OFF IN THE END ZONE! Richard Sherman comes up with a HUGE takeaway for Seattle! Wow, not a great way to start for the Packers...who cares! Go Seahawks!

Why I Hate Your Fans (Packers)

1. "Go Pack, go" has to be one of the worst team cheers ever.

2. Do you guys have anywhere else to wear cheese other than on top of your head?

3. Please get over the "Fail Mary". It's been three fucking years.

Why I Hate Your Fans (Cowboys)

1. Please explain to me what makes you guys "America's Team". Yes, I know that's been around forever, but does anyone realize how obnoxious that sounds?

2. When you guys beat the Lions because of THREE bad calls, you were telling everyone that "one call doesn't decide a whole game". Now, when your team loses because of the way a rule works, you guys are allowed to complain about the refs? I'm sensing a little hypocrisy going on here.

3. So, you guys are going to be the 2015 NFL World Champions? Here's a word of advice: get the Super Bowl tattoo AFTER your team makes it.

4. I have never before seen so many obnoxious Cowboys fans posting on Facebook. Where were you guys last year and the year before? Or the year before that too? If you want to criticize the Seahawks fans for being bandwagoners, then don't act like you are too.

5. Skip Bayless is a Cowboys fan, and he is the most annoying piece of shit I've ever had the misfortune to see on my computer screen. The crime of the century? I think the families of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Sandy Hook school shooting would disagree.

6. I don't know what's more annoying: #DemBoyz or #HowBoutDemCowboys.

Why I Hate Your Fans (49ers)

1. The 49ers fan base takes all the bad qualities of other fan bases and throw them into one giant stupid soup. They're as obnoxious as Packers fans, as entitled as Patriots fans, and bitch about the good old days even more than Steelers fans.

2. Did I mention the whining? The never-ending whining?

3. If they're winning, you'll find about 5,000 49ers fans on Facebook mocking whichever team they're playing. If they end up losing the game, they'll either disappear or start making excuses. So much for "49ers Faithful".

4. They made a SF version of the 12th Man Flag. If you guys are going to criticize us for LICENSING the 12th man from Texas A&M, then don't make a ripoff version of it for your own pathetic excuse for a fan base.

5. One of their fans made a fifteen-minute video of why the NFC Championship game was "rigged"....AFTER the Super Bowl was already over.

6. They're always making obnoxious "How many do you have" comments whenever someone brings up Lombardis. I didn't know 21-year-old trophies mattered anymore, but that's just me.

7. I have met ONE 49ers fan in my entire life who actually has some class, and she's a twelve-year-old girl.

8. The best insult 49ers fans can think of for Seattle fans is "The Seahawks fans are bandwagoners."

Seahawks vs Packers Prediction Update

On Sunday the Seattle Seahawks play the Green Bay Packers at the Clink in the NFC Championship game. The game will kick off at around noon. I believe that the Seahawks will win, and here's why.

1. The Seahawks beat the Packers 36-16 in the season opener, and Rodgers wasn't even injured then. Now, the Seahawks roster is more or less 100 percent, while Rodgers is dealing with an injured calf and Lacy is also limited.

2. The only thing that's really changed much since the season opener is that Harvin will not be playing, but then again what else is new?

3. The defense is back and ready to roll. They're not number one in the league for nothing.

4. Rodgers said he isn't afraid to throw towards Sherman. Well, neither were Newton, Kaepernick, or Lindley, and look how great that turned out.

5. The Seahawks know how to finish strong, but the Packers don't.

Shorewood High School Blue Friday

Today is Blue Friday at Shorewood High School. Wear your Seahawks gear and support the team as they take on the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. The kickoff will be at around 12:00. Be ready 12s, and have a fantastic Friday!

Vote on Your Favorite Seahawks Picture

Vote on which of these three pictures you like the best. I'll post the winner in a few days.

Three Days Left

After months of waiting, it's almost the day we've all been waiting for since the first kickoff of the 2014 season.

Well, one of them anyway.

This Sunday, the Green Bay Packers will travel to Seattle for the NFC Championship game. The winner of the game will play the winner of the AFC Championship game in Super Bowl 49 at University of Phoenix stadium. Seattle is favored by seven points over Green Bay, with the total point coverage expected to be around 43-49. Kickoff will commence at around 12:00 p.m.

AFC and Why I Don't Blog About It

I won't be blogging much about the teams in the AFC because my team is in the NFC, and I don't like the AFC very much anyway. Some of the players there are too annoying for me to be able to blog about them without being derogatory. And I also have a limited amount of time to blog, so I need to prioritize.

Lions Get Revenge on Cowboys

Even though the Lions were watching the second round of the playoffs from home, in an indirect way they were vindicated for their loss against Dallas the previous week. A Dez Bryant catch was overturned because it was ruled that he did not complete the process. The Cowboys lost the game 26-21, and Lions players were all too pleased to troll them on Twitter. Some of the more popular ones included hashtags such as #karma or #completetheprocess.

Good job Lions.

I Really Hate ESPN First Take

I stumbled upon the ESPN First Take YouTube channel recently, and it's the worst thing that's happened to me since I found a dead bird in my yard. Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith are two of the most sickening people I've ever had the misfortune to see on my computer screen. Skip's problem is that he whines when his Cowboys lose (did anyone see his tweets after Dez Bryant's catch was ruled incomplete?) and he makes the stupidest predictions ever. What's with the name too? Seriously, is there a dumber name than Skip? It doesn't matter where it comes from. He should be embarrassed to have to introduce himself as "Skip". It sounds like he's trying to give himself a nickname that's a ripoff of a peanut butter brand. Stephen A. Smith is about as dumb as Peanut Butter Name and even more annoying because of his theatrics. Every time the subject turns to Aaron Rodgers, I can always count on him to say "He's a baaaaaaad man!" Whenever he says that I want to throw up. He looks like an asshole, and he is one too. Truthfully, he and Skip are perfect for each other. Two assholes running the same show. What else could go wrong? Oh yeah, that bitch they brought on the show. Someone please shut her face.

Is This The End?

If you watched the Colts vs Broncos game yesterday, you know all too well what happened. Peyton Manning had one of the worst games of his career, finishing only 23 of 36 in passing attempts. This brings up a lingering question: will Peyton Manning be back next year?

A month ago, even two days ago, I would have said yes. He said himself he intended to come back next season, and so far he's managed to withstand the test of time. But things have changed since then, and the truth is that he's just not as good as he used to be. His arm is weaker, which is to be expected since he's 38 years old, the oldest quarterback in the league right now (Tom Brady is second at 37 years old). He can't avoid the blitzes as well as he used to, and he's being hit by defensive linemen who are at least 10 years younger than him. It doesn't bode well for Manning at all to continue.

When he played yesterday, you could see that he is well past his prime. It was like watching a pop star try to make a comeback after a a slump-you knew it was over. Perhaps he realizes this too. A year ago this kind of loss would have tortured Manning and he wouldn't have been able to rest until his team was vindicated. After he lost to the Colts, he seemed almost resigned, as though he had already resolved to retire after this season.

If he is leaving, this is a bad way to go out.

Packers vs Seahawks Prediction

Next week, the Green Bay Packers will travel to Centurylink Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game. This past year, Seattle was 7-1 at home and are now 1-0 at home this year during the post season. Green Bay, on the other hand, was 4-4 on the road. With a hurt Rodgers, this will most likely be the end of the road for the Packers.

Prediction: Seattle 27, Green Bay 17

Broncos vs Colts Recap

Wow. I don't think anyone saw this coming.

The Broncos are eliminated. That's it: out, finished, better luck next season. The game's final score was 24-13 Colts.

The Colts will advance to the AFC Championship against the Patriots. The Broncos, meanwhile, need to fix some things this offseason.

Which brings up an important question: will Peyton Manning return next season?

Karma's a Bitch, Dallas

The Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 26-21 after a Dez Bryant catch was ruled incomplete because he didn't gain full control over the ball and it hit the turf when he went down. Cowboys fans are getting a taste of what karma is.

Packers vs Cowboys Update Part 2

I decided to skip over some of the game because part one was uploaded really late. The wifi crashed, so I had to wait until it was fixed to post anything...brutal. Anyway, the score is now 14-13 Dallas and we're now in the third quarter. I don't have much time for many updates, so I'll probably just post the final score later.

UPDATE: Cowboys touchdown, score is now 21-13.

Packers vs Cowboys Update Part 1

Okay, I'm at the pool right now with no way to watch the game, but I do have internet so I'll try to make as many frequent updates as possible. The game is about to start, so I'll have to watch the live update on nfl.com, which isn't exactly ideal since the site is a little slow. Yesterday it didn't have the final score for the Seahawks game until about an hour after the game was over. Sorry...I ramble. Let's check out the stats so far in the game.

All right, Crosby just kicked off so Dallas will receive the ball to start the game. Good kick, it went to about the Dallas -3 or -4 yard line. Harris is returning it and....makes it to about the 23-yard line, so fairly decent return. And there's the handoff to Murray, and he gains about five yards...not bad, not bad. So now it's 2nd and 5 at the Dallas 28, and I think Romo might try to pass...nope, hands it off again to Murray who gets pushed out of bounds at the line of scrimmage. So no gain on that play, and it's now 3rd and 5. Okay, so it's 3rd and short, and they need a conversion. And...sack! Tony Romo gets hit for a loss of 5 yards and fumbles the ball! Dallas gets it back, but this brings up 4th and 10 so the Cowboys will have to punt. Not a bad kick, and decent field position for Green Bay. Hyde made the fair catch, so the Packers will start at their own 40-yard line.

Rodgers is in shotgun formation....he's playing with an injured calf, so he'll need to be careful in this first half. He hands it off to Lacy, who goes absolutely nowhere, and actually loses one yard. It's 2nd and 11 at the Green Bay 39 now. Shotgun again, and this time Rodgers throws a short pass to Nelson for 11 yards. Now it's 1st and 10 at midfield, and Lacy gets the ball again...this time he has a better run and gains 19 yards. It's first down again at the Dallas 31, and Rodgers is in shotgun formation again.

Okay, I missed some of the update, but Green Bay just scored a touchdown, so the score is 7-0 Packers. Update part 2 coming soon!
